Pour RSEInfo, la notion de système d'information (SI) dépasse très largement celle de l'informatique.
Il s'agit de définir et de mettre en place les moyens et les usages permettant à l'information d'être collectée, saisie, stockée, traitée et diffusée au sein d'un organisme, quel qu'en soit la nature (son contenu) et son format (papier et/ou numérique).
